The SeaDragons Story

It all started with a visit to see The Mouse…In 1991, while on a family vacation to Walt Disney World we watched the scuba divers in the Living Seas and listened to their underwater presentation. From that moment on I knew I wanted to be a diver.

Several years later, after graduating from college and marrying my girlfriend of eight years, Jill and I signed up for an Open Water course. The diving consisted of fresh water lakes in upstate New York. The water was cold, the viz was poor, and the marine life was lacking yet I was hooked.

In 1999, we moved to the Sunshine State, and weekly dive trips to West Palm Beach became a way of life. I would look forward to the weekends when I could leave my “real job” and drive 2 hours south to serve as Dive Master for various dive charters. In October 2000, I became a PADI Instructor so I could share my passion with others, as well as finance all the great dive trips I dreamed of taking. We started with a 3-week excursion to Australia. While in Australia, we dove the Great Barrier Reef then continued south to Kangaroo Island in search of sea dragons. Little did I know that this would provide the namesake for my future endeavor. Leaving Australia was bittersweet, and one thing was certain, I was not going to spend the rest of my life in a cubicle!

A couple years later, the decision to turn away from corporate life was made for me. Laid off from my job, I began creating what is now SeaDragons Dive Shop. After a year of planning and with much help and support from friends, we transformed an abandoned warehouse into a 6000 sq ft dive center. At SeaDragons, we pride ourselves on being a dive shop for divers. A place to come in and talk about your recent dives, continue your education, and fill your diving needs. Our goal is not only to introduce people to scuba, but also make it a part of their lives. We’d like diving to become a passion for you, like it is for us. We plan to experience all the aquatic world has to offer.

Won’t you join us? Adventure Awaits!

Thank You
To George Campbell, Greg Thompson, Rick Lehman, Bob Thompson,

Bob Relph, Paul Collett, Erik Perlman, Jeff Shapiro.
For your hard work, support, encouragement, and friendship, without which
SeaDragons would not exist! Happy Diving!
