Course Descriptions
Discover Scuba:
If you’re interested in trying scuba, or want to share your love of diving with a friend, Discover Scuba is a great place to start. This is an opportunity for non-divers to be introduced to scuba equipment and experience scuba diving in a pool with an Instructor. It’s a fun way to get familiar with breathing underwater and practicing some skills. Diving can change your life... Adventure Awaits!

Prerequisite: Minimum age is 10 years old.

Open Water Diver Course:
Find out what lies beneath the surface! This course is the first step in the discovery of the underwater world. Your Instructor will teach you the basics of learning how to scuba dive. You will learn practical information in the classroom, and then get into the pool for skills in the water. Next, you and your new dive buddies will do 4 open water dives with your Instructor. Upon completion of the course, you will be a certified diver, ready to experience all the aquatic world has to offer!

Prerequisites: Minimum 10 years of age for Jr. Open Water Certification. 15 years and up for Open Water Certification.Good health, reasonable fitness, comfort in the water.

Open Water Refresher Course:
Haven’t been diving lately, and need to brush up on your skills? The Open Water Refresher course is just what you need! One of our Dive Pros will lead you through some basic skills in the pool, followed by a review of the Recreational Dive Planner, before taking you on two ocean dives. We strongly recommend this course if you haven’t been diving in over a year, especially if you had limited experience before your last dive. This is also recommended prior to taking an advanced level course if you’re just getting back into diving.

This is also an opportunity to encourage a friend to take the Open Water Course, and do your Refresher with them!

Advanced Open Water Course:
This course provides you with more dive experience and opportunities for adventure. You will make 5 dives; each one lets you try a different type of specialty dive. The dives included in this course are a Deep dive (between 60 -100’), a Wreck dive, a Night dive, a Navigation dive, and a Peak Performance Buoyancy dive. As a bonus, you will also learn more about Boat dives and Drift diving. This is a great way to perfect your skills and enhance your dive experience.

Prerequisites: Open Water Certification. Minimum age is 15 years old. (Minimum 12 years of age for Jr. Advanced Open Water)

Rescue Diver Course:
Rescue divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety of other divers. Your training will prepare you to anticipate and prevent problems and to assist in dive emergencies. This is a challenging yet rewarding way to build confidence and continue your dive education.

Prerequisites: Advanced Open Water Certification. Minimum age is 15 years old.

Must have 20 logged dives and complete an approved CPR/First Aid program.

Dive Master Course:
The adventure continues with the Dive Master Program. This is the first step into the professional levels of recreational diving. In this extensive course, your training will develop leadership and problem solving skills as well as expand your dive knowledge. Topics range from dive theory and equipment to physiology and physics. You will also assist Instructors with student divers and lead dives in the ocean.

Prerequisites: Rescue Diver Certification. Minimum age is 18 years old.

Must have 60 logged dives upon completion course.

Specialty Course Descriptions
Enriched Air: (Nitrox)
The Nitrox Course is one of the most popular specialties. Nitrogen is the limiting factor for divers. With Enriched Air, the nitrogen content is lowered by replacing it with oxygen. This allows you to safely extend your bottom time beyond the no-deco limits when using air. Simply stated, diving on Nitrox means more bottom time, which is what it's all about! You will learn about the benefits and risks of diving with oxygen enriched air, analyze your tanks, and then do 2 dives using Nitrox.

This is a great course to take if you're interested in deep diving, wreck diving or underwater hunting.

Prerequisites: Open Water Certification or current student in OW course. Minimum age is 15 years old.

Deep Diver:
The Deep Diver course will give you the opportunity to dive at depths between 60 – 130 feet. This type of diving requires additional training, and here's where you'll get it! After learning about deep dive planning, techniques, and precautions, you'll complete a series of 4 dives with your Instructor. There's a lot to see below 60 feet, like big animals and wrecks. This course will prepare you for new adventures!

Prerequisites: Advanced Open Water Certification.Minimum age is 15 years old.

Equipment Specialist:
The more you know about how your gear works, the more comfortable you will be with it. During this class, you'll learn about different features and functions of each piece of dive equipment. Common equipment problems will be discussed, along with basic care, maintenance and storage tips. You will also learn how to assemble a Save-a-Dive kit so you're always prepared for the unexpected. Never miss a dive due to a blown o-ring or broken fin strap again!

Prerequisites: Open Water Certification. Minimum age is 10 years old.

Fish Identification:
Have you ever asked yourself, What was that? This specialty course will give you some fish id basics so next time you'll know the answer. You'll study fish families found in local waters and identifying characteristics of different species within the families. The Fish Id specialty includes two reef dives where you'll test your knowledge of all the fascinating creatures you meet.

Prerequisites: Open Water Certification. Minimum age is 10 years old.

Night Diver:
In this course you will experience night life on the reefs! You will understand the skills needed and procedures to follow for planning night dives, and learn communication methods used underwater at night. Then, you'll do three night dives to practice these skills. All the beautiful colors and nocturnal creatures will have you hooked!

Prerequisites: Open Water Certification. Minimum age is 12 years old.

Peak Performance Buoyancy:
Buoyancy skills separate the good divers from the great divers. In the Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty, you'll learn to be precisely weighted, streamlined, and to ascend & descend effortlessly. Imagine moving through the water efficiently and gracefully, while conserving your air supply and protecting the fragile marine environment below you. These skills are very important for all divers to master.

Make this class your first stop before your Wreck and Underwater Photography Specialties!

Prerequisites: Open Water Certification. Minimum age is 10 years old.

Underwater Navigator:
Underwater navigation can be challenging, however in this course you'll gain the skills to meet this challenge. Learn to use environmental clues as well as a compass. Follow navigation patterns and locate dive sites. You will become a more confident diver knowing these techniques.

Prerequisites: Open Water Certification. Minimum age is 12 years old.

Underwater Photography: (Digital)
You can’t take souvenirs with you, but you can take photos to remember each dive. Using a digital camera, you’ll learn how to take underwater pictures to enjoy and share with your friends. You will also be taught how to download, edit, and store your files on your computer.

The Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty will help improve your photography skills.

Prerequisites: Open Water Certification. Minimum age is 12 years old.

Wreck Diver:
Through the Wreck Diver specialty, you’ll gain knowledge of special skills and procedures needed to experience diving on wrecks. Exploring wrecks can be magical and mysterious. They become homes for a variety of creatures, make great subjects for photos, and offer a glimpse into the past. To earn this specialty you’ll also complete four wreck dives.

Other specialties which will enhance your wreck diving experiences are Enriched Air (Nitrox) and Peak Performance Buoyancy.

Additional Information
SCUBA Diving
SCUBA diving is fun for the whole family. Children are eligible for Jr Open Water Certification at age 10. For children 8 and up, we offer the PADI Seal Team program! This is a great program that introduces kids to SCUBA diving in the safe and controlled pool environment. Students will learn basic skills in 5 fun and exciting sessions! Please call for details.
